Here's nailing a major goof up that PM Modi allegedly told the Nation about his own money.
On 6th March this year, PM Modi declared that he'd donated 21 lakhs from his "personal savings" to Kumbh sanitation workers (when he washed their feet etc.)
Read on to know how questions can easily be raised.
As of 31st March 2018, PM Modi had declared his total bank+FD savings as 1,19,25,978 (about 1.20 crores). Also, he'd declared his Postal Savings/LIC savings as 6,77,516.
That's total "savings of" 1,26,03,494 (1.26 crores) as of 31st March 2018 - which is last year.
This year, as of March '19, PM Modi declared his total bank+FD savings as 1,27,85,717 (about 1.27 crores). Also, he's declared his Postal Savings/LIC savings as 9,51,993.
That's total "savings of" 1,37,37,710 (1.37 crores) as of 31st March 2019 (this year). His "savings"/"assets", therefore, increased by 11,34,216 (11.3 lakhs) between Mar '18 & Mar '19 which is 8.9%. Now that's perfectly fair considering this matches the average annual interest rate.
So suffice to say he hasn't touched these savings within the past 1 year.
Now, PM Modi's annual salary is approx 19.5 lakhs per annum according to his tax returns.
Which means that PM Modi earned about 19.5 lakhs as salary in the last year & did not touch his savings. In which case the BIG question remains.
WHERE DID THESE 21 LAKHS (which he allegedly donated to sanitation workers) COME FROM?
He claims it came from his "savings" but we know he hasn't touched those.
And the donated amount is MORE than his annual salary even if we assume he donated his entire annual salary. (5/n)
Even if PM Modi donated EVERY penny from his salary, the math doesn't add up.
Moreover, he didn't touch his savings so if claims that he donated his entire annual salary, how did he manage his expenses for a year? Because the "donated" amount exceeds his salary.
So did PM Modi actually donate these 21 lakhs to Kumbh Sanitation Workers?
Or was it another pre-election "jumla"?
And if he still claims he did donate these 21 lakhs, what was the source of this extra income?
