No, Shri Mohan Bhagwat, you are totally wrong . Divorce cases are not less in uneducated and impoverished families. They are not highlighted nor does anyone care ( like in everything) to what happens in the lower strata of the society.
Moreover in a patriarchal and feudal society like ours, it is natural that women do not have a voice to speak up and therefore have to stay confined in loveless, hapless and abusive marriages. And naturally, the women who are uneducated or less affluent are less independent too. Financial insecurity and lack of life skills also deter them from contemplating divorce.
Divorce is not a desirable way to promote family values. But then, the idea of family itself has changed over the years. And if two financially independent persons decide to break up their marital relations by mutual consent, then who are we to comment or criticise on it.
One more thing. Whenever you try to occupy the mantle of a sociologist or a social reformer, you come out with preposterous theories which are neither empirically proved or logically valid. So please don't bother.
