Surat's New Bengal Club serving the mankind during Lockdown- INDvestigations

Surat: New Bengal Club in Surat has been in the forefront of feeding destitute and homeless since the first few days of the Lockdown.  A big team comprising of  24 members of New Bengal Club is preparing food packets, keeping social distancing in mind, packaging the food packets and then a team goes to different slums and other areas of Surat distributing the food items.

Many of the members have come forward with help and support both financially and materialistically.  Women members of the club has also been active in preparing the packets along with their male counterparts.

According to the president of the New Bengal Club Milton Dey, a charismatic youth leader, Every member is taking keen interest on helping the poor in distress. This is the time when the Bengali community has come forward under the banner of the New Bengal Club and are immensely supporting the cause. Prominent and active members include Pradip Biswas, Robin Ghosh, Dipak Patra, Gonomali, Gaurango Shah, Raju Kundan, Vishwajeet Patra, Papan Kaur, Mukesh Hazra, Sanat Patra, Ramprasad Mandal, Gonesh Majhi among others.
